FAQs

What is PsychCred?
PsychCred is a simple way to understand and track psychology licensure and credentialing steps, organized by state, with alerts, checklists, and real-world tips. We are currently in our beta phase. That means we are offering support for the following states: Vermont, New York, Illinois, California. We will expand over time. If you need your state added now, let us know!

Who is PsychCred for?
Students, post-docs, early-career and fully licensed psychologists. And anyone navigating licensure mobility or adding a new state may find our resources helpful.

Do you offer insurance credentialing too?
We are currently focusing on licensing. Depending on demand we may expand to include insurance credentialing information; if this is of interest to you, please reach out!

How do the email alerts work?
Choose your state(s) and enter your email. We’ll send focused updates when something meaningful changes (a new form, fee, step, or deadline), plus gentle nudges for your checklist milestones. You can unsubscribe anytime from the bottom of any email.

Where does your information come from?
We start with official sources (state boards, published rules/forms) and add human-friendly explanations and user-submitted experiences. Because rules change, always confirm final details with your state board before you submit.

Is this legal or professional advice?
No. PsychCred is educational and for planning purposes only. Always verify with your board and follow their official instructions.

What if I find an error or a link is broken?
Thank you! Use the “Suggest an update” button on the relevant page or email us at hello@psychcred.com. We’ll review and fix quickly, and we’ll note corrections on the page.

Can I submit my experience or tips?
Absolutely. Share what worked (and what didn’t). We moderate for accuracy, clarity, and privacy, then publish highlights to help others. You can do this on the Community section of our website.

How often are pages updated?
Continuously. We monitor official sources and user reports, then update pages and send alerts when changes matter to you.

Are the checklists printable?
Yes. Each state has a printable checklist (PDF) and an on-page version. Use the “Download” or “Print” button.

Will you store my documents?
Not at launch. You can note what you’ve uploaded/sent, but we don’t store your private documents. If we add secure storage later, it will be opt-in and clearly labeled.

What’s your privacy policy? Do you sell my data?
We don’t sell personal data. Emails are used for alerts you request. You can delete your account or unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How much does PsychCred cost?
Early access is free. As we add advanced features (multi-state tracking, insurance credentialing tools), we may offer paid plans, but core licensure basics will remain free.

Can I request a new state or feature?
Yes! Use the “Request a state/feature” link in the footer. We prioritize based on demand and impact.

I’m outside the U.S. Can PsychCred help me?
We’re starting with U.S. licensure. If you’re pursuing U.S. practice from abroad, our general checklists can help you plan; always confirm with the target state board.

How do I contact support?
Email hello@psychcred.com. We aim to respond within 1-2 business days.
